„Oh, du lieber Augustin”
Neujahrsanimation 2024 für das Designstudio deblik
„Der liebe Augustin”, ein Bänkelsänger, Sackpfeifer und Stehgreifdichter, zieht um 1679 in Wien von einer Spelunke zur nächsten und unterhält die Leute mit seinen zotigen Liedern, während in der Stadt die Pest wütet und Tausende – Arme, Reiche, Junge und Alte – dahinrafft.

Für diese Animation bin ich etwas in die Cinema 4D Lite Version eingetaucht, die in After Effects integriert ist. Die schlichten Formen der Models ohne Texturen und Effekte fügen sich gut in das Designkonzept des Studios deblik ein. Die Umsetzung der Animation war definitiv eine Herausforderung, hat aber viel Spaß gemacht.

“Der liebe Augustin” (“Handsome Augustin”), a balladeer, bagpiper and standup poet, moves around in Vienna from tavern to tavern around 1679 to entertain people with his salacious songs. Meanwhile the plague carries off thousands – poor, rich, young and old.

For this New Year’s greeting animation for the design studio deblik I finally got a little bit into the C4D Lite version that comes with After Effects. On the visual side, for now I’m happy with the total simplicity of the models and surfaces. But doing the animation was definitely a lot of fun and got me hooked.
